Instructions for EFS (How To Use EFS Tutorial):
For LG Vu's with Software V10s-DEC-12 ONLY, you need to follow these instructions prior to steps 1 thru 7 below.
To determine what software version you have on the phone: go to Menu, Settings (4th tab), More, Handset Information, then scroll down and see what it says for Software Version.
1. Make sure you have the LG Vu Drivers and a USB DATA Cable.
2. Hook up phone (you MUST be in data service mode)
3. Launch EFS Media Builder
4. Click EFS Files Explorer at the top
5. A 'Select Port' window will show up, make sure 'Auto Search' is checked.
6. Select the one which is labeled 'LGE Mobile USB Serial Port (COMx)'
(x is the COM port being used)
7. Click Connect

- This tool is similar to BitPim as it does not have direct support for the Vu (Bitpim is no longer supported unless special circumstances arise) . One of the main things it can do that BitPim cannot, is renaming files/folders. This allows access to prohibited directories, such as PXO. It can be said to be more of a dangerous tool and only the more experienced users should use it. Furthermore, this version does not contain the false positive if you have a virus scanner. If you still get it detected as a trojan/virus, please refer to the listing of tutorials and look for Bitpim there.
